"It's Too Late for Me"
This one tends to surface around milestones, birthdays, or whenever you find yourself comparing your timeline to someone else's. It sounds like I should have started sooner, or I missed my window, or everyone else figured this out before I did. It has a specific kind of heaviness to it.
The belief is rooted in the idea that there is a specific schedule for things. That opportunities have expiration dates. That your age, your choices, or your path so far have somehow closed doors that can't be reopened. And once that belief takes hold, it doesn't just create sadness. It actually stops you from trying. Why start something if you're already too late?
Here's what's actually true. You are always working with where you are right now. That's the only real starting point anyone ever has. The person who started at twenty and the person who started at fifty are both starting from their own now. Comparison is not useful here because no two paths are the same and no two timelines are the same.
Alignment doesn't have an age limit. Healing doesn't have an age limit. Growth doesn't have an age limit. The only thing that closes those doors is the belief that they're already closed.
It's not too late. You're just here instead of there, and here is where everything actually happens.
Reflection:
Where does the "too late" belief show up most for you? Is it about something specific, a relationship, a career path, a personal goal? What would you do differently if you knew time wasn't actually the obstacle?
Simple Practice:
Write down one thing you've been putting off because it feels too late. Then write one small step you could take toward it this week. Not to fix the whole thing. Just to prove to yourself that the door isn't actually locked.
Meditation:
You Are Exactly Where You Should be
Take a breath in. Let it out.
Feel your feet on the floor.
Feel your body in this moment.
Let your shoulders drop.
Breathe in: I am exactly where I need to be.
Breathe out: I trust this.
Breathe in: I release the need to be further along.
Breathe out: I am enough, right here.
Breathe in: My path is unfolding perfectly.
Breathe out: I am at peace with where I am.
Take one more easy breath. Let your body settle.
You are not behind. You are not lost. You are here, and here is exactly right.
