Love one another sounds like it's all about other people, and most of the time we treat it that way. Be patient with your sister. Give your coworker the benefit of the doubt. Let the guy who cut you off in traffic have his moment. That's real and it matters. But the Law of One doesn't split us into categories of people who deserve kindness and people who don't, and somehow you keep ending up on the wrong side of your own rule. If we are genuinely all one, the love has to move in both directions or it isn't really the Law of One, it's just a nice idea with an exception built in.

So look at both sides this week, at the same time, because they're really the same practice wearing two different outfits. Notice how you talk to the people around you, the grace you extend, the patience you dig up even when you're tired. Then notice how you talk to yourself in that same stretch of time. Would you tell your best friend she's lazy, behind, not doing enough? Probably not. Would you say it to yourself without blinking? A lot of us would, and we'd call it being honest instead of noticing it's just unkind.

The two aren't in competition and one doesn't have to come first. Speaking gently to yourself makes it easier to speak gently to others, and treating others with real patience tends to soften the voice in your own head too. It works like a loop, each side feeding the other, which is probably the whole point of calling it the Law of One instead of the Law of Some of Us Sometimes.

This week, catch both moments. When you're kind to someone else, notice it and let it count. When your inner voice gets sharp with you, catch that too and ask if you'd say it out loud to someone you love. Same standard, same person underneath it, no exceptions for the one wearing your name.
