Last week, I shared two meditations that bring a sense of calm and awareness: Body Scan and Mindfulness. There are so many different styles to explore, so this week I wanted to introduce a few more. Some quiet the mind, while others awaken energy and movement.
What I love most is that they can take just five minutes a day, yet those few minutes can make such a difference. Setting aside even a little time helps strengthen your intuition and bring a clearer sense of direction.
Breath Awareness Meditation
ou simply pay attention to your breathing: noticing each inhale and exhale. When your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your breath. Great for calming the mind quickly.
Loving-Kindness Meditation
You silently repeat phrases like “May I be happy, may I be peaceful,” and extend those wishes to others. This practice opens the heart and builds compassion.
Guided Visualization
A recording guides you through calming imagery such as walking on a beach or meeting your higher self. Visualization helps relax the mind and awaken creativity.
Mantra or Sound Meditation
You repeat a word, a phrase, or sound to anchor your focus. The vibration of sound helps quiet the mind and shift energy.
Movement Meditation
Gentle mindful movement such as yoga, tai chi, or walking is done with full awareness. This practice connects your body, your breath, and your sense of flow.
Transcendental Meditation
You silently repeat a personal mantra to move beyond thought and into a state of pure awareness.
Chakra Meditation
You move your attention slowly through your seven energy centers starting at the base of your spine and rising to the crown of your head. This practice connects your physical and energetic self and helps you feel calm and aligned.
My Go-To Practice
My own practice combines a few of these styles, though I always begin with a chakra meditation to center and balance my energy. I’m excited to share more about the chakras next week
