One Thing to try this week  (try a few days this week)

Meditation with a Question

Instead of going into meditation to clear your mind, go in with one specific question for your guides.  Ask it once, then just sit in stillness. If you notice you are trying to "think" of an answer to fill the silence, ask your Ego to take a step back. Sometimes it takes time to open up, to understand the feeling of letting go and receiving. Notice what images, feelings, or knowing shows up. And if you get something that has nothing to do with your question, that is ok. Maybe there was something else you were supposed to know, and it came through when you were open to listen.

When I do this I notice my brain starts to list off all of the things I want to hear, things I thnk I should hear, or that I think may be the answer. I pretty much need to tell my Ego to step back every time so I can just listen. It then takes a bit to know what is coming from your Guides and what is coming from your own brain. Sometimes I get my answer, sometimes I get something else to think about. I learned to understand the difference by how it is answered.  In my case, if it is coming from myself it sounds like me and how I would say it. If it is coming from my Guides then it is in a different tone or structure. One time I heard a word I actually had to go look up in the dictionary (well, online... but you know what I mean!). That was a sure sign to me that it was not coming from me!
